Martha has provided quality Occupational Therapy Services in the Kootenay-Boundary Region of BC since 2004 as sole proprietor of Ascent Rehab Services. With 28 years of OT work experience, Martha has supported clients with a broad spectrum of diagnoses and impairments impacting physical, mental-emotional, and cognitive health. She has over 20 years expertise in the area of vocational rehabilitation including disability management, ergonomic evaluation, functional capacity evaluation, job demands analysis; and has worked with many referral sources including insurance companies, unions, lawyers, community employers, health authorities, government agencies, and private clients. Martha enjoys working with individuals to overcome barriers to optimize functioning in their life roles and work activities. She practices with an evidence based approach, and maintains skills with regular review of best practices and research, continuing education and collaboration with peers. Post graduate training that supports her practice includes Ergonomic Evaluation Training, Work/Functional Capacity Evaluator Residency, Cognitive Functional Capacity Evaluation, Life Care Planning, and Progressive Goal Attainment Program. Martha is able to bring a diverse perspective and solution focus to complex assessment and treatment situations. In her spare time, Martha enjoys playing in the Kootenay mountains with her children.
